WORKING FOR VICTORY

12 Mar Working for Victory film show.jpg

MUSEUM IN THE PARK, STRATFORD PARK, STROUD GL5 4AF

Factories producing ‘hush hush’ equipment for the navy and air force, the obligatory arrival of tractors on previously horse-powered farms, playing touch rugby in the ballroom at Stroud Subscription Rooms and more...

Juliet Shipman will introduce this gentle local history documentary, a record of living memories of the World War Two years in the Stroud District. Made in the early 1990s, it combines interviews with local residents and archive photographs. It reminds us how quietly important the humble, homemade documentary can be in recording memories and stories before they are lost. Filmmaker Alan Vaughan from Eye Witness Productions will also join us.

Part of the Museum’s Thursday afternoon programme, enjoy tea and biscuits after the film.

2pm | £5
