The Pickers

A beautifully made and informative film which affords dignity to the migrant agricultural workers of Southern Europe who are exploited in order to provide us with cheap fruit. Find out about the Stroud-based CIC which imports delicious fairly traded organic fruit and avocadoes into the UK from a co-operative in Calabria, Italy, featured in the film.

The film is 1 hr and 20 mins and will be followed by a short question and answer panel featuring the directors of Oranges for Justice with a live link with the Italian manager of the Co-operative, Peppe Pugliese, who will share some of his passion for fair trade and justice. Coffee, tea and cake will be available for a donation.
