The selection process aims to curate a programme of films for each short film event which may be linked  through topic, genre or geography for example. We also aspire to  a diverse range of film makers who ideally can be part of a Q and A panel. Our selections are about themes and stories which connect with the creative and inclusive values of the film festival and its audiences Festival audiences really appreciate hearing  film makers  talk  about their work and if you are able to be present, that makes inclusion more likely, We’re not a BAFTA qualifying festival though we do offer laurels for your marketing, should you be selected.

Please send a link to your short in an email, together with a synopsis of less than 100 words and 20 word logline to shorts@stroudfilmfestival.org

Invitation to be part of a screening event:  15th November. 

If your film has been selected please confirm attendance for the date identified by 22nd November 

Programme deadline is 1st December. 

Festival screening dates: Friday 27th Feb - Sat 14th March 2026
