2020 is the centenary of the birth of Harold Whitaker, a lead animator at Halas and Batchelor, Britain’s biggest and most influential animation company of the mid-twentieth century and based in Stroud for many years.
He was one of five lead animators on Animal Farm (1954) and a pivotal force at the studio thereafter, developing a distinctive method and style of animation. This small but fascinating foyer display will show original drawings from Animal Farm plus images created for friends in his later life.
Museum admission is free, donations welcome; open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm and weekends 11am to 4.30pm.
